This image was created in June 2019, on Father’s Day. Tybee had lost her dad just a few days earlier, and as the storm rolled in I asked her if she wanted to continue.

The rain masked her tears as she danced under the sculpture, and I got one final frame as we began to pack up.

Completely coincidentally, a lightning strike touched the ground just as the shutter snapped closed and we ended up with one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever captured as a photographer.
